I need to replace some of the sealer between the decks of my 1988 18 outrage.Can anyone tell me were I can get a sealer to match origanal sealer color?? Thanks John |

This has been a previous discussion, which you might review. I have been interested in this also, and as far as I know we have yet to conclusively determine the product Whaler actually used. The Dow Corning almond color silicone caulking is close match, but not what they actually used. |

Just to clarify a couple of things: --were are talking about [I think] the sealant used in the cockpit to seal the various mechanically fastened cover plates that form the floor of the deck; --the "silicon" content of this material is unknown; it may be silicon based, it may not. |

Yes Jim that is what I am talking about.I would like to replace with the origanal product,But if it is not available I would like to match the color.If water is allowed to enter these seems were does it end up??Does it saturate foam core?? Thanks John |

I believe Whaler did the original with 100% pure clear silicone. I did the complete job on my outrage last summer and it came out just like the original. West marine has a nice tool(red) to get the old out and fill in the new. Search the archives. I don't think the water gets trapped, it works its way to the bildge. Alan |
