Good day all. Is there any way of positively indentifying what model 1964 Whaler 17 I own through looking at the hull id. number? This was purchased as a project boat and as such a number of original equip. items were no longer there. Thank you.

I don't believe there is any source of reference which lists hull numbers of individual boats with what model they were originally produced as, except the Boston Whaler company's own records, which they might kndly share with you by contacting Whaler Customer Service. They can often look up a hull and see what it was and what dealer bought it.

In general the hulls were all the same. The boat became a particular model by the addition of more components (mostly wooden components, too). The only difference might be if a hull were ordered with the workboat layup, which increased its weight (and cost).
