Any ideas on material and procedure for replacing old deteriorated cowling foam insulation?

Just pull it all out. If it breaks lose it can clog your carb and poof!

All of the manufacturers sell replacement insulation. Check your local dealer.

Stuff available at BoatUS. From company called "Peace and Quiet". Kit comes with foam faced with foil and spray on adhesive. I used it on my '80 Johnson 100HP on my Montauk. Worked great. Motor was also quieter.
