I am looking into seating options before starting my redo of the console. The original bench seat (non-reversible) is in rough shape and was taken out. What are your feelings on this type of seat vs. reversible? How about the new type of plastic swivel seat or the rocket launcher? Will be going to the Boston Boat Show and what to poll the audience so I can wrap this up.

Thanks, Austin

Leaning post is a nice option if you rarely sit while driving.

Howdy, Kolbert.

I doubt that your boat is a Sakonnet if it has a fixed seat. Does it have the casting platform in front of the console? If I recall correctly the fixed seat cc was called something else. . .Eastport?

If you want to restore to Sakonnet specs you need the mahogany RPS and the front platform.

Good luck.

The fixed seat was called a "Pilot Seat", and it came standard on the Nauset or the Easport. The mahogany RPS, along with the front deck, is what actually made a 16' boat the Sakonnet.

Currently unemployed and have spent far too much time surfing the web for a leaning post. If you decide to go that way this is the best one I found-

Mine arrives on Tuesday, if you want I'll let you know what I think once it's here.

Does anyone have drawings for a Sakonnet pilot seat?
