I have been sanding the bottom of my 1969 13' Whaler and notices several places where the gelcoat has separated from the foam. I have been drilling holes thru the gelcoat and filling the areas with epoxy. This last weekend, I was testing the chine area of the bottom and discovered that the chine areas on both sides of the bottom is very thin. I can easily poke a pencil thru the gelcoat.
Should I cut the gelcoat out and fiberglass these areas or can I straight fiberglass OVER the thin gelcoat?
