I was going over the hull today and noticed a small crack on top of the transom. The crack was caused by the wearing down of the fiberglass over the years from the previous owner(s)...it must have just happened because it was not there when I purchased the boat. There are a few other places that are thin as well. Before I get started on this repair, I just wanted to confirm what I need to know so I only have to do this job once. I'm going to vee our the groove (it's a corner about 3 inches long ), then I'm going to grind down a little so I'll have a good surface to work from on both sides, then I'm going to fill the area, sand, tape, fair, sand again and finally apply the gelcoat. Again, tring to get a good match.Am I in the right church? Amy hints that would make this job a little easier are greatly appreciated. DaveS
