I would really be happy if anyone could tell me how to remove norman pins without damage, they are old and have been in for a while. Also I am going to take it down to glass and redo the whole thing, the out side I will awlgrip or emron. I want the exact same color blue inside though, what paint and color should I use. I want it perfect. Thank you

I used two vise-grips with some leather to protect the pins. I think you can also get plastic protectors that fit the vise-grips. The norman pin is a three piece assembly two pins that are screwed on a threaded rod.

When I removed the bow pin from my Nauset only one pin unscrewed, the other pin was stuck to the threaded rod. But that was good enough to remove it from the boat.

I believe that Empress blue Awlgrip is the color that will match the Whaler blue.

Good Luck
