I bought a used 17 foot 1997 Whaler Standard (desert tan colour) with side console last fall. I have put a new 2002 Honda 4-stroke on her. Here in Canada, not boating weather yet, but I am also considering taking the King Starboard seats out of her and replacing with small pedastel seats. I have put new railings on her (following the advice from here of drilling and tapping 1/4" - 20 machine screws...worked great. Any thoughts about mounting small (would have to be very low) pedastals onto the floor? Assumes the floor is also WhalerBoard which is actually quiet good to work with using taps.
Thanks, this is a great forum.
