When I bought my 1980 22' Outrage it had an outer self bailing type plactic ball plug on the back of the transom. This is below the water line and anytime a small piece of trash gets in there it will not seal properly. Does anyone know of a better style plug.

Cinco de Whaler -

I read an old boat test on those ball type plugs. The author wasn't too happy with them. Not sure of a solution. But you're not the first.

Cinco,
My '89 22 does not have the ball check valve arrangement. It is mearly a larger brass tube always left open at the very bottom. Only problem so far regarding clogging was when one of my son's Nerfball burp gun's ammo balls found its way into the well. Absent Nerf ammunition, the well fills at rest and drains while under way.
