Has anyone used a "puck" type shoot thru hull transducer on a whaler with any success? Is the performace less than transom mounts? I am looking at fishfinders and just don't like the idea of adding another transom mounted transducer. Boat has Mercury smart gauge transducer so speed and temp are already taking care of.

Boston Whaler's Uni-bond hull construction is generally thought to prevent use of inboard mounted SONAR transducers that try to couple their acoustic energy through the hull.

Hello,
Definately possible but I bailed on the idea. I posted this a while back.
