I thought it might be of interest to the forum that the February,2002 issue of Powerboat Reports includes an article on boat paints. The subject boat is a 35 year old 13' Boston Whaler. It appears that there will be follow up articles on how the different paints perform.

I thought it was interesting, the article stated "Finally, using a photographic light meter and a well-focused beam of light, the gloss of each surface was measured..." Sounds like a fade meter to me.

Yes I have seen jokes made about a fade meter on this forum before. Note that Consumer Reports and other test labs routinely use a light meter to test brightness,,i.e. how clean did the Tide get your skivvies?
