I have taken off the old motor, mounted the new motor, and stripped out all old rigging and harnesses and now I'm ready to reinstall. I bought a new binnacle w/ integrated keyswitch and the new harness matches up nicely, however there are two pigtales on the binnacle side of the harness that do not have deutch connector plugs. these 2 pigtales have three wires each and all have ring connectors at the ends. I think that one goes to the tach and the other to the tilt guage but not sure.

If anyone can help me with this puzzle I would appreciate it. A pic would say a 1,000 words.

For those who don't already know, It is an omc rig for an 18' outrage with a 150 johnson oceanrunner 1997 model year.

Your engine and my 90 have the same service
manual, but it's not terribly helpful.
It's got a pretty colored schematic of the
cable, but that doesn't say a word about
what goes where.

Ah, here we go: black, purple, white/tan
Connect to trim guage. If no trim guage,
leave insulationon last two.

Black, purple, gray wires: connect to a
conventional tach when a SystemCheck tach
is not used. If you don't use them, leave
insulation on.

Triblet, Much thanks! I do have trim guage so I will use those wires. As for the tach I will cover the connections.
