Does anyone have experience w/2 pedestal seats mounted where the original was? I'm going to look at a 1974 boat with this fairly recent owner modification, and have some concern about the installation and whether they'll hold up. Thanks.

This was discussed a few months ago. If memory serves, the concern was that the 1974 hull has the earlier (so called 16') wood locations, and that there is not a piece of plywood over the entire floor of the boat as there is with the 1979 and later hulls. If you look at the wood diagram you can see there are strips down the middle and under each end of the RPS/Console. But nothing over the whole floor.

So you have reason to be concerned about the seats staying in place. I think the conclusion in the previous thread (which I can't find) was that the seats should be attached to a piece of wood or metal or something to spread the pull out forces.

Many thanks, Taylor. Can anyone help me locate the thread he mentions?
