You can fix the screw holes in the bottom of the seat with a dow rod cut to length, coated with a good glue that will not disolve when wet.
1-Predrill the new hole slightly smaller than dow rod. You want a snug fit.
2-Cut dow rod 3/4 inch in length.
3-Coat inside hole with a good wood glue. Use a Qtip to get the inside coated good.
4-Coat the Dow Rod with glue then insert into hole.
5-Use a small block of wood with a mallet to insert the rod flush w/ the bottom of the seat.
6-After a couple days of good curing time, Predrill the new hole the correct size for the SS screws.

I have used whalertim's "fix" many times and it works well. The only thing I do differently is that I used epoxy instead of woodglues. Epoxy is harder and it is definitely waterproof. Right before you put everything together, cover the hole with sealer so that water cannot get into it once the screws are tightened.

Are you talking about the screws from the legs to the underside of the seat, or the screws through the legs down into the deck? Tim's solution is for the underside of the seat, not the deck.
