What type of light pole should i use for my fathers 1969 13 sport?The cheap aluminum ones corrode within a short time and have to be destroyed to get out.

Bob,
I have seen a stainless stern light somewhere recently so I know they are available. It may have been in Hamilton Marine's catalog. I remember that the light was VERY expensive. Your other alternative is to only keep the light mounted when you are using it. This is probably the better choice anyway because, given enough time and enough salt water spray, the stainless ones will corrode into position too.
When I bought my boat, the stainless light was frozen into place. It wasn't too bad and I was able to free it. Now, I only have the light mounted when it's in use.
