I have a 1969 13' commercial Whaler that was passed down in the family to me. The boat has been painted a few times and was very well taken care of but used also. My question is do you know of anyone that would be able to restore the deck (cracks and a little weak in some places) to the original '69 deck? Also, I would like to have a white rub rail installed. This boat has alot of history and money isn't an object. Thanks for any help that you might be able to give me.

Use this forum to find out what is involved with your projects. Every imaginable repair has been discussed in this forum. Go back 100 days and find posts that relate to your request. That will help you understand why the spider cracks and soft floors exist and tell you how they need to be properly fixed. You may decide to tackle them yourself, or atleast would be able to go to a fiberglass repair guy and explain why the damage is there and what you would like him to do.

In general, you have some common delamination on the deck which is why it is feeling soft and why the hard gelcoat covering is cracked.(water is getting between the hull and the foam core from unsealed entrances of the deck, rain etc...) There are several ways and several degrees of resolving this problem and its common on an older whaler. If properly repaired and sealed you will be fine.
