I was talking with "Rage Conversion" Bob tonight and he showed me a sample of Seacast. This is some very tough stuff and the manufacturer claims it is 3 times as strong as marine plywood. It can be used to strengthen transoms and to replace stringer. The sample that Bob had didn't weigh any more than a similar sized piece of plywood. Has anybody worked with this composite? http://www.transomrepair.com
Bob, I think you have the answer as to how to strengthen that transom!

Hey, "Conversion Bob", check out this forum at http://transomrepair.com/forums/index.php
There is a post in the 2nd listed forum by a guy who is using Seacast to replace his entire transom. If you read some of the posts in the 1rst listed forum, Seacast says that this stuff can be used to raise transoms like so many owners of the 13 foot whalers do. It really does look like a good way to strengthen that transom.

I just talked to the owner of this company and he said his product will NOT melt whaler foam.
