Bought a new Rule Automatic Bilge pump to replace the original manual factory installed pump. Any tips on what to expect will be appreciated. Thanks, Jay Herrin

Great choice, did you get the regular one round or oblong or the Platinum series round?? Anyway, I wired it directly to the battery and really don`t draw much the Platinum series cycles every 10 minutes or something so it uses a little more battery, but not much. If you bought the regular one, it won`t cycle andit will only turn on after about 2 and a half inches of water to activate it, thats the reason I bought the Platinum, it will turn on before it gets that high. Jack.

Jack...Thanks for your post...I got the oblong one. I'm going to leave the boat in the water for the first time since new (1988) during vacations at our summer home. I'm a litte concerned about those random summer thunderstorms that dump 1-2" of water in your boat. This seems like a good fix...Regards, Jay
