Since I have the fuel tank cover off why not remove the fuel tank and inspect visually or at this point should I

woops...or should I just replace the tank altogether ? What should I be looking for in the old tank (says installed 1983) I was told they should last about 20 years or more. The tank appears in good shape from the outside. What should I expect to pay for a new tank ? Can I get one from whaler ?

thanks, Kevin

Kevin,

I'd recommend having the tank pressure tested. If it passes, why not just have it put back in and foamed?

Paul,

The guys at harpoon are thinking it is ok...I'm just kinda weighing my options and checking out the what ifs...
From what we can tell this boat didn't see alot of use...not alot of salt exposure. What it did see was alot of rain and maybe the tank was just soaking in fresh or highly diluted salt water...so I'm hoping it is ok.

thanks,

Kevin
