I checked on adding tilt and trim to a 70hp once. (Dad's arrowglass) Can be tricky though, according to some on the marine machanics I discussed it with. On the 70, the whole base on the transom side of the pivot point has to be changed out for original omc tilt/trim. Hopefully its a simpler process with the 50. The 15'er really shines with the tilt/trim. Good luck.BC |

How about a tilt and trim jack plate under your engine? CMC makes on that is not too heavy. |

I have a CMC PT&T unit and love it. Very well made, simple to install, clean wiring except for the cheezy switch, IMHO. There is a guy on ebay that sells a nice pushbutton switch for about $20, I think he is out of Cincinati and sells a lot of boat guages. Darrell |

Just checked West Marine and Cabelas sites, West was about $30 cheaper on the smaller unit. I bought mine at my local West Marine store on one of their "no tax weekends" the store price is $10 more but saved about $27 by not paying sales tax. Darrell |

Been there, done that on my 1985 70Hp Johnson. It did require dismounting and remounting atleast one side of the engine transom bracket. I don't consider that a big deal considering you'd have to dismount the entire engine to use a tilting setback bracket like the CMC. I've had no problems with my PTT since I added it 4 years ago. |
