I WORK FOR A PIPELINING CO.,AND AFTER WE LINE THE WATERMAIN WE GROUT THE MANHOLES WITH POLYURATHANE GROUT.THE GROUT IS WATER REACTANT,WHICH MEANS WE DRILL A HOLE IN THE STRUCTURE THEN PUMP THIS GROUT(CONSISTANCY OF MOLASSES)THROUGH THE HOLE AND WHEN IT HITS ANY WATER ON THE OUTSIDE, IT IT FOAMS UP AND SEALS THE STRUCTURE FROM THE OUTSIDE.
I WOULD GUESS THIS WOULD BE A CLOSED SELL ORATHANE .I WONDER IF YOU COULD KILL 2 BIRDS BY FRILLING A HOLE AND PUMPING THIS IN TO A WATERLOGGED AREA OF A BOAT. IT WOULD FILL ANY VOID AND USE THE WATER IN THE HULL TO DO IT?

Interesting notion, but I am not sure it would work. I think the main problem would be how to get the water to diffuse from the wet foam into the slurry.
Then, there is the issue of weight. The water would stay inside the hull.
How ever, you could always do an experiment.
