The front hatch covers of a 22OR are separating along the bottom side seam. This exposes the interior material , which in some cases is rotten or missing totaly. I believe this was a Mfg problem but the boat is now out of warranty. In cases of small voids, I have filled with epoxy augmented with filler. The two on this boat have large voids, maybe one foot square. What would you all suggest to repair this ?

If you dont mind some work it is easy to fix. i had to fix mine. they are actually foam filled just like the boat. you have to "disect" them by cutting the underside skin off with a dremel, grind out all the foam, cut a piece of 1" plywood to replace the foam, use epoxy resin to bond in, clamp together (i parked my car on top of it) then you can either bond the underskin back on or lay a sheet of fiberglass mat and gelcoat. email for more detailed info.

Eric
