Just finished gel coating with spectrumcolor desert Tan and duratec high gloss additive used two coats w/ foam roller. Filled the spider crackes and smoothed over filled screw holes. Should have preped a bit better but the important thing is the gel coat should keep any water out. the product went on smooth and cured to a tack in 45min @ sub 70degree temp at 6 est. Choose to do after heat of the day and inshadows. i suggest the thinnest coats (2) as non skid was some what comprimised. plan on putting down dri-dec afterwards

Thanks for the info on temps and drying time, John. This is our next project on our 11' Whaler (hopefully later this week or early next). -- lks

can not stress proper prep . taping, sanding, filling screw hole neatly. I could have done a better job with regard to the astectic(sp) part. My main goal was to seal the hull and prevent as much h2o from getting in. people from spectrum color where great.
