I'm looking for information and photographs that will help me make or find a replacement dive door for a 1986, 26' Whaler. Any information would be appreciated.

A swing dive door or a dive door thats bolted in,....one in which you remove the bolts to remove the door completly. I have one on a 22 foot gaurdian that was operated by the US NAVY in Portsmouth Virginia. I can send a pic if you like (via email). I beleive in my opinion if your gonna be diving I would prefer a swing door. It would surely be easier than removing countless bolts,.......... |

Thanks for your reply. My email address is sunrider@lisco.com, and I would very much appreciate a picture. The situation with my boat is that I was told the door was factory installed as an option with the original purchase. The opening has aluminum slots on the sides of the opening in the gunnel, and it appears that a board of some kind (about 1 3/4" thick) would just drop into place from the top. Then a hinged aluminum cap rail swings down to hold the board in place..secured by a latch. It's this board that is missing. Have you seen anything like this? |
