I have a 69 whaler hull, I'm trying to restore it, somewhat. I'm a novice and need lots of info/help. I removed the rub rail and I'm having trouble removing the adhesive. Also is it possible to get the original blue interior paint, if so where?? Thanks in advance.

Clam Hound:

Start your research in the Cetacea section. There is an article showing a restoration of a 68 Nauset that will get you pumped for your project. Then pull up all the threads from the last two years in this section of the forum. You'll find every topic possible for the project you are going to undertake.

You can get the original blue gelcoat. The supplier and all the application advice is in thius section.

Good luck and have fun restoring your Whaler. I would offer some advice but I am new to this also but have increased my knowledge by several thousand times from the info shared in this forum.

Hi: I just enjoyed the same task. Its well worth the effort..

If you go to an auto paint supply house (check yellow pages), look for a product by 3 M Co. It's an adhesive remover and it comes in a spray can. This should help with getting that mess off. Sorry I don't have a part # for you.

Hope this helps..
