I have a 1980 Revenge 20'. The fuel gauge is no longer working. How would I replace it. Any suggestions, reading material...etc, would be appreciated.

I presume you are talking about the mechanical sight gauge on top of the tank under the clear deck plate in the floor of the boat. Look at the tank next to the gauge and see who the tank manufacturer was. There should be a label there. Florida Marine Tanks made most of Whaler’s tanks back then but there were also some odd-ball plastic tanks as well. Once you have found the manufacturer you can contact them for a replacement or a source for replacement.

It may also be that the float is "water logged" in which case you can simply remove the gauge and replace with new float and reinstall, preferably with a new gasket but some sealing compound will also work with the original if a replacement cannot be found or fabricated.

I also remember reading that some earlier 80's models had electric guages, maybe with the plastic tank Tom mentions.
