swivel trailer tongue

EZ loader offers a hinged tongue as an option- which I didn't get when I bought the trailer last year. I found that you can order the swinging tongue separate for $140 (totally galvonized), and it took about two hours to install. You can even do it safely with the boat on the trailer. The hinge assembly is extremely stout with 3/4 pins on two sides. This was for a 16 dauntless with a 2300lb ez-loader trailer.

Does the install require any welding?

No welding. This piece was pre-drilled to match the holes at both ends-- for the ball clamp (?!) and the neck where the trailer sides come together. It is reversible (both sides have the same holes) and the hinge is more toward one end, so that you could have a 4foot swing or 2foot swing depending on which end you fixed to the trailer.
The hitch shop down the street would have done the same job by welding a hinge in-- but they wanted $280 and the modified area wouldn't be galvonized at the welds. This piece was cheaper and completely galvonized.
