I HAVE A 84 WHALER ORGINAL GAS GUAGE ,IT ONLY SOMETIMES READS PROPERLY I LIFTED THE ACCESS PANEL TO EXPOSE THE WIRING EVERYTHING LOOKS OK WIRES NOT CORODED. IS IT THE SENDING UNIT? CAN IT BE CLEANED OR RE-WIRED????

Kenyon,

I don't know if this is your problem or not, but it's free fix...Clean the grounding terminal thoroughly and it might fix your problem.. it did with mine.

Kenyon,

I should have said that your should clean all of the connections, Sending Unit, Ground, and all of the connections to your gauge. ALSO, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, DON"T USE CAPITALS WHEN POSTING A MESSAGE. You will get flamed big time by many members of this board.

you MIGHT have. ;-)
