Greetings once again all. I am in the process of purchasing a used Johnson 70 and I happened to notice a Long Island, NY dealer's decal on the engine. Now the engine has not been used in a few seasons. Other than obvious corrosion or non-water pumping what do you think I should be on guard for? I use my boat here in the Hudson valley in fresh water. Thank you.

I'd replace the water pump impeller before it hit the water. If it's been sitting for a few seasons it's probably acquired a nice "set" in the rubber. Had the same thing on a 35 Merc that had been sitting- water just dribbled out of the pee hole.
