Restoring a 1972 19 ft outrage

I have resently aquired a 72 19ft outrage that had been sitting uncovered in the woods for about ten years, and sent it in to to be painted. I have been having a hard time finding a new seat for the boat and was hoping someone may be able to give me a phone number as to where I may be able to find one. It's the reversable seat were the back rest swings forward or back. The seat was recovered in brown vinyl. I have a cousin who purchased a new seat for his 71 Montauk, however with the new deal with sea-ray the store has since then lost their Whaler dept. The sea-ray dealers in my area were also unable to help. The Whaler I am restoring is powered by a 78 175hp. johnson that I am also having painted with awlgrip and I would like to find or have some new logos made for the motor. I have have one other qustion about my hardware, should it be chromed or nickle plated?
Thank-you for any information you may be able to relay to me, Dan

Welcome to the forum!
Easiest way to get some info. is to show up at Port Huron's Municipal Marina, up Black River this coming Friday afternoon and Saturday (it's the marina that's normally closed, except for special events, and is the one downriver from BHYC). We've got an informal Whaler Meet that's going on this coming weekend, July 12th - 13th, with about 8 to 10 boats showing up.
If you need some further info, call me at 810-459-0149.
Best - Don McIntyre

Don that sounds great, what time are you guys meeting. I am off this weekend and would love yo make it to the Marina. My Dad used to keep his boat at Bridge Harbour so I know exactly where you will be. By the way I saw the photos of your Outrage and it looks awesome. I have a cottage on Stag Island and I can't think of a better boat for playing around the Island in than that Outrage of mine. When I first saw this boat I thought about putting it back in the woods where I found it, until I took it out for a ride and I fell in love with it. Thats when I decided I had to do something with it. -Dan

To answer your question about a new seat....try Whalertim(here on forum) or www.hallsnautical.com. A finished seat in original glory(wood, foam, cover) is about $200. You can also have them make you a coushion set for the back bench seat, etc. They can do both original(tan/brown pipe) or white/red, etc.

PS that is called a RPS seat and is the same on all models I believe. Does the outrage have the same rear bench as the Revenge?
