HELP!! The deck of my new montauk is getting so dirty I cant keep up with it!I wash it down after every use using basic automotive soap, water and a scrub brush. Is there any formula I should be using to get down deep into the slip resistant deck? The boat is fully covered all week and I still have staining and discoloration in some areas.Any advise will be helpful.
Thanks Steve
Oh, this boat hauls ass! At first I wasnt sure about its abilities, but after having it for a couple of monthes, Im sure Ive got one of the most well adjusted boats on the bay. The following sea handiling characteristics are amazing.Im gaining a respect for this boat and enjoying life to the fullist!

Simple,Simple Green! It is very concentrated so you can "cut" it with water,I go with 50/50 ratio. Or even 20% S.G./80% water. But in the end, live with it. Every time you use your boat it will get dirty! Automotive soap is ok for smooth surfaces, but the "serrated" surface of a non-skid deck it can't "lift" the dirt as well. And when your done, take the time and admire it! Because that's when it looks the best!

When mine gets really dirty and hard to clean, I either take out the power washer from the shed and hook her up, or since there is a quarter car wash between the ramp and my storage facility, I'll stop by and hose her out.

On the non skid I use a stiff brush and Mary Kate #2132, Cleaning Detail, non skid deck cleaner. Still work but it gets it clean.

Soft scrub with bleach works good. If it REALLY dirty(which mine usually is)I use straight comet. Castrol GTX superclean is awesome stuff too but be careful with it.....very potent, will mar paint, etc.

I had the same problem with stains and dirt on the deck. I tried a number of things including Simple Green. There were still stains that wouldn’t come off. I took a squirt bottle of 409 that my wife had and gave it a try. To my surprise, it took most of the stains I couldn’t get off before. Give it a shot it seems to take most of the dirt and stains off.

Hello,
Once your clean....
I broke down and bought some Woody Wax due to all the hoopla.

www.woody-wax.com

The stuff works. Use sparingly and follow the directions. Most stains hose off even dried on Cherry Gatorade the other day.
Light scrub for other stuff.
Thanks
Chap
