I just purchased a 1970 Menemsha. The cuddy cabin has been removed and I plan to install a Nauset consol and pilot seat. I noticed sonething unique about the hull. It lacks the bow deck cleat located behind (inboard) the stern light. The fiberglass was designed to accept the pin but neither the hole nor the pin are there. Any suggestions for drilling a hole and adding the pin.

It's called a "norman pin" and is avaiable from just about any Whaler dealer.

A good dealer to work with for Whaler parts is Twin Cities Marine

Drill a 1/4" hole and thread it on with some Lok-Tite and you're done.
