Has anyone found an aftermarket solution (or homemade remedy) to keep the intake grate from getting clogged up with seaweed? Once it's clogged there is almost no way to clear it short of diving under the boat. This is a '94 Rage with the 90hp OMC.

I have a 94 Regal Razz jet boat. I have tried many times to come up with a solution. So far no luck. I always carry mask and snorkel, dive knife, Leatherman tool and extra set of screws for the grate( dropped them more than one time in swells). There have been times when weeds, ropes, fishing line, plastic bags, etc. have been inhaled and had to remove grate to extract. Not what you want to hear.
