Does any own a 65 Sakonnet? I'm trying to reinstall the pilot seat.
Was the large storge bid that was built into the seat, facing the front or to the rear?

i have a '65 sakonnet. i believe that the large bin faces the rear of the boat. the smaller angled bin faces the console.

i think.

I am the original owner of a '69 and you are correct. The large compartment is to the rear with the small angled compartment forward. The original installation of the reversible seat back has the smooth portion of the back forward with the open compartment facing aft. I reversed my seat back so the open compartment faces forward. Makes it easier to get to the pliers, hook removers, sunscreen etc from the helm and the stuff does not seem to fall out as bad when underway in heavy water with the bow up and the back towards the rear.
