Anyone have a nifty design for attaching a pedestal mount on the foreward section of a 79/13' sport.I was considering fabricating a plate to attach to the vertical wall outside the foreward storage compt. but have concerns about stress to that wall. Any ideas greatly appreciated . Ross

I cut a space out of the floor where a seat or other instilation is to go and put OAK, blocks epoxied into the foam, then [while epoxy is wet} replace the trextured floor back on top of the block, fill edges with marine tex and install what ever goes on top
This wil give you some thing solid to screw to..

Hey Bubba.

The pedestal seat mount from a striper works just fine. I had one in my '75 13 Sport.

I have a 1985 13 Whaler. I fabricated a mount from a 2x6 block of alunimum. The wall I mounted it on has a "U"-bolt going through it. This wall is on a 10-degree angle, so this has to be considered. I drilled a 3/4 hole in the end and drilled and tapped two 1/2-13 holes on the side. These holes were all drilled on a 10-degree angle. This wall has plywood in it, and I weigh 165#, I have had no problems.
