I never have done any 12 volt wiring. If i get a 13 foot dauntless, i am getting a fish finder, gps, and radio. the gps will be a garmin 176C, which is hand held, but I want to have a cig. lighter or two that i can plug it into. I also want a cig. lighter for my hand held VHF or other things to plug into. The fish finder will have to be wired in, but the dealership will put it in.

How would I go about wiring a cigarette lighter onto the boat? Do i need a fuse box or something, or can i splice it right in? A website would be great if you know anything.

If you buy the Whaler 13-Dauntless, if you buy the fish finder, if you buy the GPD, and if you buy the radio, then I would recommend you consider spending an additional $25 to buy a good book on 12-Vdc wiring on a boat.

You will find that unlike on-line forums, most published books--particular ones that are into multiple editions and printings--are quite well written, organized, edited, and illustrated.
