Did anyone custom build a t-top for a Montauk? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Most folks on this board agree that a Montauk T-Top effects the boats center of gravity and could be very hazardous in a bad beam sea. Plus the t-top would probably just get in the way when fishing off either end. The Outrage 17-18 have a lot lower center of gravity with the below the floor mounted fuel tank and thus have more hull deeper in the water. I would recommend sticking to a Bimini, mount it on a 2' track so you can push it forward of the front railing when you need the room for fishing. Ken

I'll take the lead on re-phrasing the question; Has anyone fabricated their own bimini top for a Montauk or Nauset?

Thanks for the reply, I'll be in the market to purchase a new bimini top.
