I have a 1984 140 Johnson with hydrolic trim. The battery was disconnected so I backed out the screw (starbord side) to raise the motor so I could replace the prop seals. When I put the motor back down, hydrolic fluid leaked out from behind the screw, and would not stop when the screw was reseated. No doubt I have damaged the O-ring or gasket, but cannot figure out how to replace it as the screw will not come all the way out. HELP!

You will have to take the 6 mounting screws out and pull unit out far enought to remove the screw. Remove it by taking the wire stop out. There is an o-ring that seals the bleeder screw, replace it. That should do it, then refill the fluid. You will need to raise lower the eng. with trim till, each time it up top off fluid. My have to do this several times, untill trim unit is working the way it should.
