I was out on the boat last night and saw a little gas in the water by one of my motors. I pulled the cowling and saw a little gas under the carbs. I am not sure which one though. I know that johnson motors have plastic bulbs that can crack and stuff, I think they also have a overflow valve or something. How should I check them for leaks and how can you do a quick fix? Boat did not idle great when first started, but once warmed up it idled and ran fine. Should I even worry about it?

it is not uncommon for the carbs to leak fuel out the front of them into the air silencer box while the engine is tipped up. When you tip the engine down, the fuel has to run somewhere, which is usually out of the silencer box into the lower pan of the engine. |
