Starting the windshield portion of my complete console rebuild and have a few questions for others that have done this before.

1) Who is the gasket manufacturer that can reproduce the needed pieces? Name/Phone # / Web Address?
2) How did you cut/router the needed relief and slot to accept the glass and gasket? I can figure out the relief of the outer lip and where the glass sits, but the slot needs to be cut as well.

Thanks again for all the assistance out there.

The glazing strip was available from:

Petro Plastics Company, INC.
450 South Avenue
Garwood, NJ 07027

But they used to have a web site that no longer exists, so they may be out of business.

If you can find them, tell them you want the profile of die number 250.

Another option would be to get the very similar glazing strip from Lyman Boats. Contact Tom Koroknay at his web site

You would want the one part windshield molding. Expect to pay about $3 per foot.

You'll need a slotting cutter router bit to form the groove for the molding. I am unsure if you can find a bit off-the-shelf or if you'll have to have one ground down to meet your specifications.

As always, thanks for the assistance. You are a wealth of knowledge and always fast with as reply.

Has anyone out there done a rebuild and already have the bit?
