Can somebody point me in right direction ? going to look for pedestal seat mount at Pick Industries but gotta design a platform for gatormount on 16.5' Katama so right now main concern is designing platform or mini-deck for mount and motor. Thanks.

Howdy, B4DB.

I have a complete Pick front seat mount, pedestal and an OEM BW seat if you are interested. Not free, mind you, but reasonable.

I made a mounting base for a front troller on a 13Sport several years back. It worked very well and actually looked like a factory option. I didn't have a bow rail, so you might need to do it a bit differently.

I started with a Mahogany board about 11"x 3/4"x20". I lay it parallel with the starboard gunwale with the end at the bow gunwale and traced the curve of the gunwale, then cut it to match the curve.

I then drilled it through, and through the gunwale in 3 places with 5/16" drill, in a triangle pattern following the curve of the bow and bolted it down with 5/16" SS countersunk machine screws and Nylock nuts. I manufactured washers for the nuts that fit the profile of the underside of the gunwale. This gave me a platform for my motor mount. Then I took it off.

A little work with a router, sandpaper and poly varnish gave the platform a furniture look. I then bolted the motor mount to it from underneath with more SS countersunk machine screws and Nylock nuts.

Reassembled and sealed with 5200, the mount worked perfectly and looked like an option, because the Mahogany finish and polished SS hardware matched OEM fittings.

Sorry I don't have any pics, but if you have questions, please Email me.

Red sky at night.. .
JB:)
