As for your question soliciting ideas to improve the wiring in the console from its current state of "a big snarl": a few dollars of ty-wraps and some terminal blocks can help.

Most of the wiring in Boston Whalers was installed after they left the factory, either by dealers or by previous owners, so it is not surprising to find that these additions may not have been installed with high standards.

Seasled,

I can relate to your snarled wire mess. I had the same situation with my Montauk. I started by disconnecting the wires from all the old electronics. Then I disconnected the batteries cables at the batteries (and sunk the batteries thru the console floor onto the deck), and re-routed the battery cables free and clear of all the other wire.

Finally, as JimH suggests, used $1 worth of cable ties, and cleaned everything up. There is no easy out - just pick through it and neaten things up best you can.
