First,

With the amount of bashing around here lately, if your intent is to bash, go away. If your intent is to provide useful information for me and other members of this board, WELCOME. WE NEED YOUR ADVICE.

OK, legalities out of the way.

I'm getting ready to re-paint my mid 60's 13's. I'm doing the interior in lt. tan Sanitred. I would like a lt. tan Bimini top as it gets Hot down here in Galveston, TX during the fishing season (which is almost all year - what am I going to do w/out my boat for 2 mos!)

I would like a good quality tan top (not top of the line, not junk either)

Please give me some manufacturers and websites that you would recommend and put on your own whaler.

Thanks...

keltonkrew,

I researched long and hard for a bimini like you described for my 67, 13. I bought one from www.websweeper.com. I got a classic blue one three bow model. It fits great and I used it all summer, You can order it custom for size and height.

take care

Samars,

did you have any mounting problems? I've read some posts here where our hulls are not completely flat and this results in mounting problems. I looked at the website and found a sunbrella color I liked (Toast). Was curious about mounting it. I'm sure mine would be identical to yours.

Where did you mount it?

Is it tight?

Thanks again

The color means absolutely nothing. I have had black biminis, white, blue, tan, red, dark red, teal, yellow, & dark green on different boats. Unless you are about 6 inches under it, color means nothing. The darker the top, the less stains show but the more it will "eventually" fade. If using good sunbrella, don't worry too much about fading.

Kelton,

The kit came with spacers that will accomodate the angle of the sides

Thanks.

That looks like the kit I'll get. I'm going to get some of the fabric by the yard and recover my seat cushions as well.

Check out this company--they were great to deal with and you really get a "custom" top for your rig. The prices are good and the delivery is a week. Great product!
