The end run of rubrail tracking was cracked when I purchased my Newport last year. I checked the area after the last time I went out and noticed that a part of the broken piece had fallen off. This is about the last 8" of rubrail tracking I'm talking about, is there any way to replace this small section or will I have to replace the entire rubrail...and if I can just repair that section, what's the best way to do it...anyone have a 12" piece of tracking laying around in their basement?

Thanks for the help.

What is tracking? Do you mean the 1st layer, middle layer, or red(black) insert?

The part that was cracked was the rub rail track.

I still have the L-molding and the insert. I think I would have to remove a portion of the track so I can get a saw on it to cut the broken part, then replace the removed portion with the new track.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again.

When anyone does a new rubrail they have a couple feet left over. Ask for a 12" section and ssomeone should send you one. I got one from someone and later mailed it to another person. Just ask in the marketplace and you will get one. If you do not, I will send you one when I install my new rubrail in November. You need the 13-17 rubrail.

Thanks for the help. Did just what you suggested and got a 2' section.
