I recently purchased a 1987, 22'Outrage. I am now in the process of going over the boat and doing minor changes and repairs. I have removed a transom mounted tranducer and need to fill the screw holes. Also, the clam shell ventilator just forward of the fishbox draintube needs to be replaced. This has been replaced before and there are a couple extra holes which need filling. I noticed a small amount of water coming out of the holes. I am now trying to dry the area before attempting any repair. What is the best method to repair these holes? Thanks. |

Start by finding out how much water is in the old holes. Do this by twisting the corners of a quality paper towel. Twist as you insert, then untwist once you cant put anymore in. This removes any "loose" water in there. Repeat till the paper towel comes out dry. Once you feel you have completely dry holes, see previous posts that cover this type of repair. Never scared |
