Im replacing the original one piece rub rail on my 17 footer with a three piece one. My question, is the top of the new rub rail the same width as the old one? And how tall is the new one? I only have two inches of room there.Buy the way the top of the old one is three quarters of a inch.

What i did, was i ordered the rub rail(new) through a BW dealer. 3 peices: the track, the track peice that the track goes into. and a little L shaped peice. What it does, You have to put the L shape on the boat so the BIG PART of the L is on the gunwhale of the boat. Then while that is in place, pop-rivit or screw in the track peice, then pound in the track that goes in the track peice.

A good thing to remember is that when it is coiled, uncoil it so you can just unroll it while you put it on. This way you will need no heat gun.

The original rub should be the width of the new one. I haven't checked mine but really i can assume that. Thanks and hope i helped you!

The Boston Whaler 500-05005 rub rail kit will fit all of the 15 to 16'7" classics.
