now that I have been confirmed that the lifting eye bolt has a bend in it, where can I buy a new one? I have been to westmarine and only saw straight ones anyone have any idea where to buy one for a montauk?

There is no lifting eye BOLT.

There are two "nuts" and a piece of "allthread"/
I think your allthread is the piece you are
talking about, and EVERYBODYS (except one)
was bent. So don't worry about it and put it
back. The inside of the end goes up.

If your really want a new one, see your
whaler dealer. If you have a problem with
your whaler dealer, find another whaler
dealer, or try http://www.mcmaster.com ,
which has SS all thread in lots of sizes.

But it will just bend.

Just replaced the old allthread because it was in real bad shape. We cut a piece of 1/2"-13 stainless allthread and had to put a bend in it to get it to work. All in a days work. If it ain't broke don't fix it, and if it is make it better...
