On my 1989 20' Outrage is there wood backing in the forward side of the engine splash well? I'm planning on installing a ski pylon and am wanting to know if I can install the base of the post in that location. My boat has the rear bench seat , so I'm limited to locations for the pylon. Any suggestions or photos would really help me. Thanks |

I was not clear on the location. Where I'm looking at for the installation is the raised lip at the forward section of the spashwell. |

Phil, Just to be crystal clear: You are talking about the top surface of the splash well dam (aft bulkhead)? I do not have a wood locating diagram for the 1986-1990 Outrage 20. It is one of the few I do not have at my disposal at this time. Looking at the wood locating diagrams for the Outrage 18 and the Outrage 25 does not give us much of a clue either. The Outrage 18 has 1/2" plywood on both the forward and aft face of the stern bulkhead whereas the Outrage 25 has 1/2" plywood on the top of the stern bulkhead. Someone here may have a wood locating diagram for your boat or you could contact Chuck Bennett at Whaler and he will tell you if there is wood there or not. |

Sorry about the incorrect spelling of surface. How do I get in contact with Chuck Bennett? |
