First timer here, found out that I have had for a number of years a 1970 Nauset thanks to this forum. Been storage the last 6-7 years and very dirty. A few questions: Is the gelcoat the white layer of fiberglass or coating on the outside of the hull? I have places where the blue foam is showing, does this mean just my Gelcoat is damaged or more? Also tried to clean the hull with normal boat soap, would not clean well. What is the next step or steps in getting my shine back, if possible. Thanks for the help.

Easy Runner,
Welcome to Continuous Wave. I suspect you haven't gotten any responses because it would seem you haven't researched this topic through old threads first. Perform a search going back 2 years (above). After you have expanded the search to 2 years, hit "control" & "f" on your keyboard simultaneously to do a search on the topic of your choice. There is a multitude of info. on gelcoat.

The blue is not foam but the fiberglass mat. Lots of good info in previous threads.
Enjoy the boat, Jim
