I have an 88 Yamaha 90hp on my Montauk, and would like to upgrade the prop to SS. I can't see any readings on the existing prop, so I am looking for some help on how to read the size / pitch.
Thanks in advance.

13x17 will be perfect.

I will be interested to hear if you spring for the SS prop. I have a '94 Yamaha 85 hp, and I just couldn't see paying for the SS and I just got an aluminum prop.

If theres no markings on the ouitside of the prop, take it off & look inside the hub.
It should have numbers & a letter such as an "M".
Also, most Merc props fit Yamahas & the newer Merc props come with any hub you want for any engine you specify.
I agree a 17 pitch should allow you to reach max rpms, if your up at least on the second set of holes on the transom.
